How do I post a longer term vacancy?
You can post a longer term vacancy via desktop here. Simply register as an Employer (or login to an existing account), select 'new post' and then 'job vacancy'. Remember to include as much detail as possible in your job posting to increase your chance of receiving suitable applicants. The recruitment branch is only available via desktop.
Who can apply to my job vacancy?
Toptask Recruitment feeds off the top layer of talent from our freelance platform, with only the most diligent and active Toptaskers being given access to our recruitment branch. Our candidate pool includes undergraduates and graduates that have completed a minimum of 3 tasks on our freelance platform with an average rating of 4 stars or more.
Where do the candidate ratings and reviews come from?
Candidates on our recruitment platform have been reviewed and rated on their performance during previous freelance projects. Employers on our freelance platform rate their Toptaskers on four different metrics at task completion, including attitude, communication, quality of work and punctuality. Employers also have the opportunity to leave written reviews for candidates.
What types of job vacancies can I post?
Our recruitment branch is used for longer term vacancies, including recurring jobs (e.g. weekly/ monthly), internships and placements, and short term or part-time work.
How much does it cost to post a vacancy?
It is free to post your job vacancy on the platform and to browse the applicants your receive, including their personal statement, cover letter and previous reviews and ratings from Employers. Pay a flat fee if you are satisfied with the applicants and would like to gain full access to their profile. The flat fee varies depending on which type of vacancy is posted.
How do I contact my candidates?
If satisfied with your applicants, pay an upfront fee to gain access to your applicants' full profile, including their CVs and contact information. Contact your applicants directly once you have unlocked their profile.
Can I edit the details of a live job vacancy?
Please contact our support team at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what you would like to edit on your posting.
Do I pay VAT?
Yes. You will need to pay a flat fee plus VAT when unlocking your applicants' full profiles.
How do I report a problem with the service?
Email email@example.com and we will gladly assist you.
Can I post a vacancy for the next day?
You are able to post a vacancy for the next day. However, we would recommend posting your vacancy at least a few days in advance in order to receive the most interest from candidates.
What if I am not happy with the applicants once I have unlocked their profiles?
If you have any feedback, issue or complaint please contact our support centre at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss this directly with our team.
How do I gain access to the recruitment branch?
Toptask candidates must complete a minimum of three tasks on our freelance platform with an average rating of 4 stars or more in order to gain access to our recruitment branch. Register on the app as a 'Student' and submit your application to become a Toptasker. For more information on our freelance platform, click here.
Is there a desktop version?
Employers create their job vacancies via our desktop version. Candidates submit their applications, including CVs and cover letters, via the Toptask app.
How do I attach my CV on mobile?
Save your CV as a PDF file on your mobile and attach the file to your application. Both CVs and cover letters are mandatory for our job applications.
Can I edit my profile?
Yes you can edit your profile at any time after you have been verified onto the platform. Simply login to your account, select the menu bar in the top right hand corner and choose 'Edit Profile'.
What do employers see on my profile when I apply to their job?
When applying to a job post, you will be required to provide both a cover letter (of up to 1,000 characters) and attach your CV. Employers will also be able to see your ratings and reviews from previous tasks, your university, first name, profile photo and the languages you speak.
How do I get notified of new vacancies?
If you have been granted access to our recruitment branch, you will receive both a push notification and an email notification alerting you to a new job posting. Make sure your app is updated to our newest version to ensure that you are able to view and browse the "jobs" section.
What happens if the employer unlocks my profile? Will I be contacted?
You will be notified by Toptask if the Employer has chosen to unlock your profile and gain access to your contact information and CV. Please note that by submitting an application to a job, you are agreeing for us to share your details with the Employer. Once your profile is fully unlocked, it is up to the Employer to decide whether they would like to contact you directly regarding the job.
Is the process the same as with the freelance tasks?

How will I get paid?
Payment for job vacancies is not made through the Toptask platform. Our recruitment branch is used for Employers to post their long term vacancies and for candidates to submit applications. Any payment for the job would need to be handled directly between the Employer and a successful candidate.
How can I improve my profile for Employers?
The more tasks you complete on our freelance platform, the more ratings and reviews you will receive on your profile. Some other tips include having a professional profile photo, submitting a strong pitch (cover letter) for the job and checking through your CV before attaching it to your application.
